PLEASURE POINT INN DISTINGUISHED AS “B&B/INN WITH THE BEST SEASIDE VIEW”

Seasonal Discounts, Packages Give Travelers Added Incentive to See the View Firsthand

Santa Cruz, Calif., December 4, 2001 - The Pleasure Point Inn, an upscale bed and breakfast located in Santa Cruz, California, was honored as the "B&B/Inn with the Best Seaside View" in the 2002 Book of Lists published by Arrington's Bed & Breakfast Journal. The monthly trade publication's Book of Lists highlights the results of a national contest in which inn-goers voted for top bed and breakfasts in a variety of categories. The Book of Lists is available in the December, 2001 issue of the journal.

"After purchasing the inn two years ago, we made significant modifications to ensure that guests enjoy our coastal setting to the fullest," said Claire Dyer, who jointly owns the inn with Tom Ertel. "We greatly appreciate this honor and thank our guests for making our efforts so rewarding."

The Pleasure Point Inn overlooks the Monterey Bay, which was designated as a national marine sanctuary in 1992. Three of the inn's four guest rooms have views of the bay's pristine beauty and protected marine environment. In addition, a rooftop deck with expansive views was completed in 2001. Along with ocean views, the Mediterranean-style inn provides guests with modern, elegant and comfortable accommodations in a location that is central to many attractions and activities in Santa Cruz and Capitola.

Seasonal Discounts/New Packages
To give travelers an added incentive to visit during fall and winter weekdays, the inn is offering a 15 percent fall discount that runs through the end of 2001 and a 25 percent winter discount that runs from January - April, 2002. The discounts represent a savings of $33 to $66 on rooms that are regularly priced $220 to $265. Discounts are for weekday stays (Sunday - Thursday) and are also applied to the two packages that the inn introduced today.

The new "Weekday Escapes" package is a getaway for two that includes on-site massages, tours and wine tasting at local wineries and reservations for a romantic dinner. The package also includes a two-night stay in the Coral Room featuring ocean views, a heated Jacuzzi bathtub, a gas fireplace and a private patio that overlooks the bay. The total cost of the package is $656.55 to the end of 2001 and $598.25 from January - April, 2002.

Because Santa Cruz is renowned for surfing, the inn has also introduced the "Room and Board" surf package for two that includes a two-night weekday stay at the inn and surf lessons from Club Ed Surf School. The total cost of the package is $639.45 to the end of 2001 and $587.75 from January - April, 2002. More information is available at www.pleasurepointinn.com.
